Honoring those who have served in all branches of the military, in addition to acknowledging Juneteenth Independence Day or Freedom Day Observance. An American holiday commemorating the June 19, 1865 announcement of the abolition of slavery in the U.S. States.
My Vote Counts Rally
& Essay Contest Winners

We encourage voters to engage in the political process. In doing so, we launched an essay contest, organized a community rally, created & distributed literature, and became a social media presence.
The My Vote Counts Essay Contest was to encourage youth to become involved and understand the importance of voting. This contest was open to all grade levels (Elementary school to College undergrads), with Prizes awarded to 1st,2nd, and 3rd place winners in each grade level.
The Tri-City Family Conference
2-Day Conference & Resource Fair
This Annual Event targets the 3200+ Families that reside in our 48217 Zip Code. We offer Family Development Workshops and invite at least 30 organizations that provide Health & Wellness Services (physical & emotional), Academic Support, Recreational Programs, Financial Literacy Training, Legal Services, and other support services for our Resource Fair. We provide lunch, snacks, gift bags, and entertainment for conference participants.
Men's Night Out
Male Mentor-ship Retreat
In addition to our 2-Day Family Conference Event, we also had a retreat on the Sunday after the event which engaged 50 pre-identified program youth, and 50 male parent or volunteer role models that spent an evening with Dr. Jawanza Kunjufu. This event included dinner, an overnight stay at the hotel, games, and other activities. The following morning included breakfast before the Main Event which featured a keynote address by Dr. Kunjufu.
